Leonie has always enjoyed working with para riders. She admires their grit and determination. Leonie enjoys the challenges that occur in para riding due to limb loss, or weakness. The effect that this has on the horse, must be counter balanced by training to ensure that the horse remains supple, sound and working correctly. Leonie's problem solving mentality is perfectly suited to coaching para riders.
She became more heavily involved in the para dressage world after producing Red Dawn who was sold to the Hong Kong Paralympic squad and was shortlisted for the 2012 Olympics.
She now has two resident para riders at Daneswood Dressage, where both they and their horses enjoy superb purpose built facilities to accomdate their particular requirements.
Ashleigh is a member of the World Class Podium Potential Programme. She is extremely driven and dedicated and Leonie is delighted to be training such a talented partnership.
